PointOne Strengthens Commitment to Sustainable Forests
PointOne has bolstered its commitment to sustainable forests with the addition of a third certification for paper products offered to our customers. We were approved recently by the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) after successful completion of a training and auditing process. This qualifies PointOne to offer paper products bearing the PEFC logo. These products are manufactured with wood fibres from certified well-managed and sustainable forests, according to PEFC standards. To maintain the qualification, we are required to follow published PEFC "Chain of Custody" procedures.
The PEFC Council (www.pefc.org) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation that promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
PointOne is also certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (www.fsc.org) and meets Rainforest Alliance (www.ra.org) standards and guidelines. Paper products with the FSC logo contain wood from responsibly managed forests that are independently certified in accordance with Forest Stewardship Council rules.
A growing number of PointOne customers are requesting products certified by these organizations. If you would like to learn more about certified papers, please contact our Business Development Manager, Tanya Low, at tanyalow@point-one.com.
